Raindrops and Haircuts

Today began as another dreary day.  With storms in the forecast Laurie decided to skip tonights farmers market.  Which meant no picking and washing today.  Instead Sara and I measured all of the gardens.  Laurie is looking into getting drip tape for watering and needed the measurements.  Meanwhile Liz and Kelsey were soaping some aphids in garden 1.

The storms weren't due til the afternoon so we started to plant out some more arugula, tatsoi, and seeds of radish and beets in garden 2.

We were making progress but the rain came early and soaked us all to the bone.  We all took a break and came inside to warm up and dry off.  Since we were all in we went ahead to have lunch.  Expecting there to be more rain we planned to do some inside work.  However upon emerging from the house it appeared clear.  Back to garden 2.  The sky even turned blue for a bit.  We got a few more beds planted and covered.

With the workday drawing to an end we finished with some weeding in the greenhouse.  There were a few patched that had gotten quite overgrown.  It looks much better now.

After that we came in and got showered up while Laurie made dinner.  Sara wanted her hair trimmed a little and entrusted Liz with the scissors.

It turned out well and the two are still friends.

Laurie made some awesome veggie meatloaf and mashed potatoes and we all sat down for our first movie night, Biutiful, that Sara suggested.
